well...the first month of 2014 is almost over already...then even worse, I realized that it's been 3 months since I last posted something in here. So maybe, just maybe I will do better this year. Of course I have said that for the past 4 or 5 years that I have attempted to blog. anyways....

I have done ALOT of thinking & pondering upon all sorts of things....and I have come to the conclusion that I want to SIMPLIFY my life & belongings to some degree this year. A perfect example of what I am referring to is this: I sit & watch my former best friend (that's a subject for a different day) buy & buy & buy stuff for his hobby...whether its uniforms...or flags or patches or vests....he NEVER stops...all the while moaning about how they "don't" have money even though he makes frequent trips out of state to various surplus shops & spends $400 or more on ebay in a given month....then consistently BOASTS about it all all over the internet even though he doesn't even have a job.... I was into the same hobby for many years however the more that I see...the less interest I have in the hobby. I personally haven't had the funds to continue the collecting, and it's been 4 years since I bought new items. The hobby I am referring to is militaria collecting. My TRUE passion is MUSIC....I buy cds & records & the occasional mp3...although I spend $100 or less each month generally. But my point is this..militaria enthusiasts are among the MOST arrogant, prideful & know-it-all people that I have ever been around...of course not everyone is that way...just most....meanwhile music buffs such as myself...are typically NOT that way....most are...in fact, the complete opposite.

So while observing my friend & the many others...I realized that I have NO desire to be like them or any need for all of that crap  ...I have no kids or anyone interested in which to leave it all to....so why bother stockpiling it...especially when regular home insurance doesn't even cover it...so if something happened...it's ALL lost anyways... So I have been working on selling portions of it off....unfortunately...I am generally losing money on everything...BUT...if it is less clutter around...then it's worthwhile I suppose.  My problem has always been....that I have or had WAY TOO MANY hobbies. Just some of the things that I have collected over the years include: militaria, music, movies, comics, baseball cards, GIJOE figures, mardi gras memorabilia, coins, stamps, books, movie memorabilia, PEZ dispensers & I am sure many more. Luckily...my OCD keeps alot of things in check & from getting too far out of hand. So...I finally got rid of my coins....sold off my movie memorabilia, GI JOE figures & PEZ dispensers...and shredded my baseball cards...YEP...shredded....why? because it cost more to attempt to sell them than what I would have gotten...so...I made baseball card mulch out of probably 30-35 complete card sets. I now buy books on Kindle instead of on paper...so that saves TONS of space., and I no longer buy movies....if I want to see one...I will redbox it or netflix it.  I figure that I will keep 1 main hobby.....and perhaps a couple of secondary ones. Because less is sooo much better.

I LOVE micro or tiny houses...& I always think.....If I had one....what would I take....and what would get sold or trashed due to space. Unfortunately...I have a long way to go to be where I want to be with "downsizing" my life & belongings & eliminating clutter...BUT every little bit helps out...and as long as I know where & what I want to be...then I can & WILL make it......But I guess that's just the way the story goes......till next time

OK...while sitting here at the computer staring at one of my friends Facebook post....I have gotten angrier & angrier....to the point of actually wanting to yell racial slurs at this one "out of touch" person who was "correcting" my friend. Now I am ONLY racist when I need to be. And THIS brings me to the POINT of this whole thing. My friend was posting her OPINION concerning the current President & the whole US Government Shutdown thing. AGAIN...it was her OPINION on it...she even prefaced it by saying that she didn't mean to upset anyone or make anyone mad. As soon as I read her post...I thought "AMEN SISTER" becuase she was spot on with her opinion, then there were a few comments in agreement with her opinion...and BAM here was some guy posting his Democratic bullshit...about how she was not right etc, etc. And then some literally ignorant girl joins in as well as another fellow....the last 2 being black. The black girl does the obvious....twists it into a RACIAL issue. So I did the next best thing....turned off Facebook...to keep me from saying something that I shouldn't.

Opinions are just that...a view that a certain individual has concerning something. YES, it can be argued that some opinions are a much better representation of the truth based on facts or historical information. While, other opinions are clearly nothing short of ignorant & misguided. The problem is that even opinions based on fact & historical info can be "torn arpart" by someone who does NOT share the same view as you. No matter how much you argue or "prove" that your opinion is correct...99% of the time you will fail to change the other's views...so why even bother.

That is one of the BIGGEST problems with Social Media....you cannot even state your OWN opinion on your OWN page without some of your supposed friends & aquaintences doing their best to "correct" you. It's an OPINION. You cannot correct an OPINION. The best you can do is either agree or disagree...NOT write an entire short story as to how your "friend" is wrong. GO FIGURE...It just shows how STUPID & IGNORANT people REALLY ARE!!!! On my page...when I post my views & opinions on things...if I see someone attempting to correct me...most times I don't delete them or their comment or even my post (like some of my friends)...I simply IGNORE their comment...it's sometimes BEST this way...I do it to simply save time...because ultimately it will evolve into some nasty & hateful thread....and there's NO need for that to occur. So I basically tell myself how stupid the person who attempts to "correct" me is & go on about my business. NOW depending on my mood...I reserve the right to argue, which is known to happen on occasion.

And this SHOULD go for your other friends & aquaintenances as well...BE COURTEOUS...if you agree...then show your support...if you do not...then SHUT IT & just don't say anything at all!!!

I am sitting here listening to Jimi Hendrix’s “NEW” studio effort “People, Hell & Angels” and while I am sitting here, I am thinking one thing…..Why is there STILL music people have never heard after 43 years. Don’t get me wrong…I am one of the biggest music fans in the land and I am all about hering new &
unreleased songs. BUT…take Jimi for example…during his life, he made 3 records….then in the last 43 years since he died there have been something like 12 “new” studio albums.

With bands like the Grateful Dead, The Doors & Elvis Presley….we have gotten a few unreleased compositions over the years….mostly various compilations & unreleased concerts and shows nowadays. BUT to release a studio album of never before heard songs 43 years after a person died is bizarre at best. My thoughts are to release the stuff…but do it alot sooner after his death. I am sure there are or were diehard fans, no longer alive, who would have LOVED to  had the chance to hear these songs before they died. 

I don’t know, but it just seems abit odd….I mean..I can understand if some recordings were found hidden someplace and remastered and put out into the peoples’ hands and thats great…but….I am sure greed (to some extent) played a role in all these new records…maybe on the family’s part but definately on the
record companies side.  But it worked….and how I know it did…is because I have bought most everything Jimi has released in the past say 20 years.

So in 5-10 years…I would imagine we’ll see yet more “new” recordings…and of course..I will still be buying them…..

 But one thing is certain….Jimi Hendrix was & is an extremely talented artist….and I am glad for the music that he has put out….and I will always be excited for the chance to get my paws on more…..

Well...I thought I would try the blog here on Weebly....So with that I am merely saying HELLO to each & everyone of you. One of the first things you need to know about me is this....I AM extremely opinionated about ALL sorts of things....My opinions reflect my thoughts & ideas NOT anyone elses. You are guaranteed to see & read things that you WILL NOT agree with...& thats ok. I don't mind, after all life would not be as exciting if everyone had the exact same ideas. We as a civilization probably would not get very far. You will (hopefully) see positive stories as well from time to time, not everything will be negative. So with that in mind, I hope you enjoy viewing someone else's opinions on a wide variety of topics 

Another thing you will likely see is alot of reviews of music artists & bands, movies & books. I LOVE music, movies, reading & the like....so you'll definately hear my thoughts & feelings on that as well.
