The first item...is chewing gum. BEEMAN'S gum was originally invented by an Ohio Doctor  in the late 19th century. It was made from pepsin powder & chicle as an aid to digestion. Adams Company bought it in 1898. Production ultimately ceased in  1978 due to lagging sales. In 1985, as part of a nostalgia campaign, it was  brought back along with CLOVE & BLACK JACK gum. You can STILL find it today, as Cadbury Adams still occasionally makes it.

MY MEMORY: (This comes from my mother) I remember that this was one of my favorite chewing gums. My mother loved the gum and as a child she would give us a stick of gum. Then as I got older I bought the gum for myself. After the gum came back again I introduced it to my children and bought many packs to store away and then it was gone again. Every now and then I'll see it  on the shelves again. I'm always looking for it. I think it was one of the best gums made!
